I've never had a smoker, but I see one on QVC all the time that i want. I do have a friend who has one and they love it. Instead of doing it all the time, they fill it up and smoke a bunch of things at one time, 3 or 4 chickens, a ham, a couple of briskets...and then just freeze it all for later use.
