Here I am all warped and ready to weave, but I think I have another problem or another thought.....it seems to me that the reed could have been a larger one....(this one is 12 epi and I think I could have used 10 epi 10) (epi=stands for ends per inch)They are going to be dish cloths and they seem to fit better in the 10 epi reed....(The yarn measured 13 epi on one inch ruler.CORRECTION : wpi(wraps per inch).I don't mind reslaying into the 10 epi reed....anyone reading have an thought or idea? Especially if your name is Sandra :o) thanks
Here is a closer look at the fit of yarn in the 10 epi reed.Looks more comfortable.
Love all the weaving photos! Wish I could join you. I've gotta go sharpen my machette and hack some sugarcane today.
ReplyDeleteDeborah, that sounds real exciting, will you be making syrup?
ReplyDeleteWhat will you make with it.Ginny
This all looks very complicated. More power to you, Ginny!
ReplyDeleteLadydi, it's not when you understand what's what, that's why I took the class....but there is a lot you have to learn on your own.Ginny
ReplyDeleteHi Ginny, enjoy the weaving. Where did you get your weaving machine from? How long have you been weaving? I would love to hear. blessings, Kathleen
ReplyDeleteKathleen, I sent you a personal email with explanations....let me know when you receive it..I'm not sure of your email address. Ginny
ReplyDeleteit does look more comfortable in the 10 reed, but resleying and retying is so much work! If it is not rubbing in the 12 dent reed badly, I'd give it a try. The main problem would be that the fabric will probably be very stiff.
ReplyDeleteYou could cut it off and resley and retie after one towel if you don't think that it's working out. I've done that before. Are you warping from front to back?

Laurie, it seems to be working okay, rather than cut and re-sley.
ReplyDeleteI've done four dishcloths already, and the only thing I see are "fuzz balls" accumulating every now and then ....guess it's rubbing. Still a learning piece.
