Once the Iris begin to fade I can look forward to the blooming of the Peonies...I was glad to see them bloom this Spring...like little people growing up :o)...
I had many in NJ and it has taken a few years for them to mature here in NC..but at last they have taken good root and are preforming well....These are my rewards for the yard work I did :o)...
These are spectacular! I love peonies, too. I usually see lighter pink ones - yours are amazing.
ReplyDeleteLadydi, (said in a slow southern drawl) "I know" ;o)..only thing about these compared to the ones in NJ ..they don't smell as sweet..maybe it takes age for that to happen...I'll wait..Ginny
ReplyDeleteGinny, good to have you back!!! I check a dozen times a day to see if you've added to your blog. My peonies are blooming now, too. Mine are light pink and smell devine. Have a bouquet on the kitchen table and you can smell it when you walk in the front door.
ReplyDeleteHappy Mom's Day, kiddo....and to all your friends who read your blog.

Jilly, when your a big farmer like me on my "Almost and Acre" Farm you hardly have time every day to post on the blog..I have my imaginary chickens to feed ...and my concrete pig that needs cleaning, and Jars of stock to cann..plus never ending laundry.:o)

That is a fantastic reward, Ginny. The peonies here aren't even budding yet. It is too early. The shoots are up and growing tall though. :)
