These French cut Sweet potatoes are Half of one potato (already eaten) when I decided to show you another reason my B/S stays up :o( The picture is a little dark on one part, you can see more of them at the top.
I've been trying preparing Sweet potatoes in more ways a monkey can shell a peanut :o) ( I thought that was pretty good).
First I peeled them, cut them into French style, and deep fried them in one of my old trusty iron pots, (good way of getting a little iron naturally, good excuse for frying :o) I videoed them and really succeeded but decided to use this still pic.
Drained them on a paper towel and sprinkled a little sugar and salt on them while they were hot and we had a little feast.
Don't do a close up! unless you want to make some , they were delicious :o) and I have more raw potatoes too!

You're so clever, Ginny! This sounds like a really tasty way to make sweet potatoes. They look delicious in that picture! :)
Those look good Ginny. I've also done them on a sheet pan in the oven.
Ginny, we love sweet potatoes too and had them tonight but boiled and then mashed. And don't get too thinking we were eating all that healthy cause we added some butter and brown sugar before mashing them - delicious! And yours looked just as delicious. We've done them this way, but substituted brown sugar (or the Splenda version).
Daisy, they were tasty, so much so, I made the second batch and we ate the whole thing :o)
Mama bug, that's probably another good way of cooking them..I'll have to try that one too!
Beatrice, I think any way you cook sweet potatoes They will be good, to you and for you..I thought about brown sugar but was anxious to bite into them :o) next time I'll try it...brown sugar is nothing but molasses and sugar anyway that will give them an extra flavor.
Ginny
Aren't you something, Miss Ginny! What a treat for you and Cecil.
Those do indeed look good, I might just have to try them that way. You ar edefinitely the gueen of sweet potatoes.:)
Mr.H. (with a big grin) That sounds like a good title to have! do I get a magic wand too! and or a green thumb? I need one or the other to grow them better. Ginny
Ladydi, the weather is terribly cold here and I need to keep by body furnace working :o) Ginny
what a fantastic idea! I've had them before in my favorite restaurant. I have even seen them in Costco. They are truly delicious♥ No sugar for me, just salt
