Did you ever beg for something that no one understood but you?
I had to beg Cecil not to cut this Bridal Bush , he thought it was just growing to tall and wild. I promised him that was the way it was supposed to grow and eventually the limbs would fan out and be gorgeous...Well, the more it grew the more he would persist and I continued to say No, you don't! I won and that makes the two of us winners (now...she finally decided to show off :o) and I didn't know which angle to get her picture :o) so I took a couple..she isn't finished blooming at the top I didn't want to wait ...It's supposed to rain and I don't know what she would look like by then...but here she is, in almost all her glory :o) just a few limbs at the top to bloom.

  2. I have a bridal bush that I planted in the front of my house...I just love it!! They are so so beautiful! Too bad they didn't bloom longer.

  3. I have a feeling Cecil knows when to give in ;-)

We have a bridal wreath hedge between us and the neighbors, but it belongs to them not us. Our old neighbor always kept it trimmed into a neat hedge, and once in a while she'd neglect to call her man to give it a trim. It would be so pretty then, but it had its drawbacks. When it is allowed to go unpruned, we can't get our lawnmower down the side yard! I have a feeling the new neighbor will not prune, so we'll have to use a push mower, that can be taken through the small gate to our front lawn.

  4. MAMA-BUG I'm glad I won that one too, Cecil is happy that he lost :o) , I don't think I'll have any more trouble out of him about that bush :o)

Robin, My bush is also in the front I'm sorry too that it has such a short bloom life, it is such a pretty bush.

Annie's Granny, I think it's beauty and enjoyment is worth the little trouble it gives..besides you love nature enough to do that extra :o)

  7. Isn't it funny how something can look perfectly ordinary 50 weeks of the year, and for two weeks be the glory of the neighborhood? I love that about nature.

  8. Jody, she is lovely and worth fighting for, even though she only lasts for a little while..I'm not the same with age either :o(

Daisy, Cecil isn't the smartest guy, but he's smart enough to know not to mess with me :o)

Ladydi, Nature is a wonder and we see it every day, she always coming up with something different, good and sometimes bad for us, so we think.

  10. Keats, thanks for the compliment on the Bush, it's on front side of the house, and grows wide enough to spread around the corner..that leads to the Garden :o)

  11. when i was growing up, we called that bush the "switch" bush because as punishment, not only would mama use the switch on us but we had to go out and break it ourselves. and we'd better not come back with a little skinny one either.
