Close up of Cotton with seeds

Kathleen said I'd have a job "cleaning" it, but the benefit is I'd also have some seeds to plant my own Cotton next year...I'd like to try it and see how it does :o)
I'm a farmer!:o)

Be careful planting that cotton. In most places where it will grow, it is illegal to plant. I have a basket full of cotton from the fields too. Pulling the seeds out takes some work. I understand you can gin the cotton with one of those hand pasta rollers, but I haven't tried it.

Deborah, I have a pasta maker , but how would that work? I'm thinking it would crush the seeds and make more of a mess!....Ginny

I was enchanted with the idea of you being able to plant your own cotton until I read Deborah's comment. Could it really be illegal to plant it in your own garden? How sad. :>{

Ladydi, I haven't looked into Deborah's statement as yet, but NC is known for it's cotton fields! So with that I don't see planting a small portion in your own garden being an issue, Maybe Poppies would be! Ginny
