Ginny's First Crop of Green Tomato's to Fry :o)
What a way to begin my day :o)...Fresh Green tomatoes from the garden first thing this morning ...and all for me...Cecil didn't want any...(didn't bother me none:o)
It's funny how much they make once they are sliced thin.and fried..they were delicious and they gave me a good warm feeling inside to know "I farmed these" :o)
You can't tell us we are not good farmers ...Okay ...Good Gardeners will be acceptable ...

Have you read the book by Fannie Flagg? That was my first introduction to fried green tomatoes. I've never tried them, but it sounds like you like them a lot. I just barely like red tomatoes, and then only a slice on a sandwich.
Ladydi, if you don't try them, that means there will be more for me :o)..and I like to take a whole tomato and make a sandwich with it covered in Mayonnaise :o)...that's all I need...without the bacon or lettuce...and it's no secret I love bacon...Ginny
What a good feeling that must have been and a sense of accomplishment too to be able to enjoy the tomatoes you grew yourself, Ginny. Summertime is a good time! :D
Ginny, good to see you back. Glad you had a nice break and glad that you got to visit a new shop. Your grand daughter is quite precious. Thanks for your generous comments on my page. The dress was a labor of love. Got a question for you. How do you use the stevia? Do you dry it or use it straight from the plant? TTYL
How I wish I were there to share those with you! lol. My tomatoes are still small and I can't wait to get them big enough to fry! Have a great weekend, blessings,Kathleen
Melodye,I put them into a "Paper" bag with holes so that the air can get to them..and dry them..I'll use them with my tea in the teapot.
I put a leaf into my mouth and was surprised at how sweet it was...I usually get the Stevia extract powder at the Health Food store...
Kathleen, I'm eating fried green tomatoes like they are going out of style :o) they are at end of summer..I'm so greedy I eat them for breakfast :o)...Ginny
