Chicken Stock completed

This has  been one busy time with this project..but it has been well worth the effort.. All the jars are the same color contents but the three on the side look darker  (they are in shadow)
I was able to get 10 quarts and about 1 1/2 cups of stock from10 lbs of chicken backs! Not bad ! The extra effort in acquiring the flavor for future meals and or  recipes :o) It really makes a big difference in taste...

That's wonderful, Ginny! That will come in very handy for meals later. :)

Dearest Mother,
You do know that Swanson foods makes a lovely chicken stock in a lovely can..very easy just open and serve...Don't faint...it really does work...

Yes daughter I do know and have used it..but sometimes it is never enough using just one can and I know exactly what is in mine :o)...
besides I don't have to depend on their prices remaining stable,or the changes they would make if they ran short of chicken ..:o) Your "Homesteading Mom" :o)

I believe I've heard of Swansons - and used it often! I do agree that homemade is best, but that 40 hour workweek (yes, I'm thankful to have a job :>}) makes the canned variety pretty appealing.
