Making Basil Pesto Day

It takes  quite a few Basil leaves to make a good amount of Pesto! That white pan was full (8 cups) Once it's made you can nibble on it often..Today I was determined to make 2 ice Cube trays full. Cecil isn't crazy about it..and I've just started taking more of  a liking to it spread on top of a tomato or spread on the bread and making a tomato sandwich with it :o).
It's pretty easy to root and grow, first time I tried to grow it , It was a failure..then I moved it into my box and it took off..(that first dirt I bought was crap, anyhow come Spring I'm going to devote more space for it.
and hopefully keep it going.I ended up with two nice trays full of that good and tasty stuff..and I've run out of tomatoes ;o( They are all in jars..a few still need to ripen on the window sill..so I still have a chance to make another sandwich without buying tomatoes from the store.:o).
That's about all I did today..I'm still tired from canning and making Pear Butter. We have had it on ice cream and it's pretty good that way too. :o)

You're always busy, Ginny. Sounds like you put in a full day. :)

That's the same amount I made, it should be a year's supply for me. Unless I decide to make pizza sauce and freeze it, I might add some pesto to that.

I love basil pesto.:) We have been busy freezing our basil as my wife likes to use it in so many dishes during the winter months...but we should make some pesto too.

Daisy, Cecil and I both don't feel right if we can't see something worthwhile that we have done in a day.

Annie's Granny, that sounds like a good plan to me! I'd like to know a few more dishes to make from Pesto :o)

Mr. H. I'd like to know what procedure does Mrs H. do to freeze her basil to use for other dishes? Sounds like a plan I could use too.

looks great! I love putting fresh pesto on a tomato topping it with a slice of mozza cheese and then letting melt a bit in the stove! So basically i'm jealous of you and granny and all your pesto :)

Eggs in my pocket ..Pesto is good and I'm finding more ways to spread it around :o) today it went on leftover Pizza , that gave me the idea to make my own :o) one thing leads to another..
