What a Day!

It seems that Cecil and I were glued to our chairs watching the Inaugural happens for two days in a row.....we were mesmerized with all that was going on.....
I have lived to see a great day in the making of History for the Country,
Correction : The World!! what we do here will be a beacon for the rest of the world.
Never mind who you would have voted for, or your dislike (if you have one) for our New President ...Barack H. Obama...let us all try and work together to make things better for our children and our children's children..put aside the old hatreds if you have any at least try and take a step forward..I was taught if you take that first step, God will help you take the second...and soon you will find yourself walking in the way you should go!...
I think I've gotten on a soapbox here! I'm sorry for that if it offends, but since I'm the oldest one here...be polite and listen...you may learn something.
Didn't get to the loom yet!!ugh!
Sorry Ladydi,no special cooking today, Breakfast was boiled egg and fried salami on toast...lunch was a can of Progresso Clam Chowder..and dinner was a quickie, French Fries with a hot dog :o) Cecil was happy (French Fries always saves me)
And I had a glass of Ice Water TWICE :o)....noticed I had some jitters (bet it's the caffeine in the soda :o( anyway, The water was delicious (just thought I'd say that so Ladydi would feel better :o) ps. (it was nasty tasting).

Ginny, it's so good to hear words of wisdom from our senior member! I like reading if you take the first step God will help you take the second. Is it anything like the first glass of ice water?? (You'll come to love it.)

p.s. We had cereal and grapefruit for breakfast, a bagel and apple for lunch, and soup and carrots for supper. :>}

Ginny, you made me laugh with your p.s. I think you have an ornery streak. :D

Yesterday was a historic day indeed! Let's hope it is the beginning of some very good changes.

Ladydi, I think you have inlisted an army against me! seems they are agreeing with you having me drink a glass of ice water...your breakfast and lunch I could live with, but soup and carrots? Soup sounds good, but how did you prepare the carrots??? Just plain? No wonder your a size 2

Mmmm...doesn't the water get better and better with each sip? Yes, the carrots were plain and raw, and so delicious with homemade potato soup, generously laced with sour cream. :>} (You're way off on the size thing, but thanks!)

Ginny, I'm a brand new spinner. I spin "designer yarns" (grin) I bought the wheel from a listing in Craig's list just before Christmas. The owner bought it to use as a decorative piece and never tried to spin on it. I paid $75 and it appears that it was a bargain. It needs a footman so I jury rigged one to try it. It spins well, I do not. I've contact a couple of people to get more bobbins and a footman. Hopefully, I'll be ready by March.

Ladydi, I'm just being contrary! the water isn't bad at all...I'm just like the cat...complaining but enjoying it all the same :o)

Melodye,I couldn't reach you off your blog..I wanted to say Happy spinning to you :o) you got a terrific deal on that wheel!
We all make Designers yarn in the beginning, it's when you get better you can't make it anymore
:o( without trying real hard.
When you get to spinning you will also wind up wanting to weave :o)Ginny

Ginny, I already want to weave. As soon as I saw that recycled sari yarn,I thought it would be great as a woven shawl. I keep telling myself I don't have space for a loom. Not to mention time. I don't retire for 3 years yet. (grin)

Melodye, Craigs list is a good place to watch for a used loom..
Best to buy that Loom while your still working...being retired isn't living on easy street :o).
