FYI

Hi Y'all, just stopped by to tell you what I think :o)...I was browsing again in one of the stores and I think that thick block of wood I found had something to do with "Cheese  serving" there were a number of items used to cut the cheese on special boards and maybe, just maybe that's what the block I found was part of one...I'm not a rocket scientist :o)...but it sure fits the bill...If you come up with a better idea let me know...I'm still going to use it as my Gravlax presser :o)...Ginny

Ah, yes, a cheese board. That makes sense. I bet you are right, Ginny. Well, whatever it was supposed to be used for, it doesn't matter. You were clever to find it and put it to another good use, I think. :-)

I guess there are many uses for one item..like a chicken, baked, fried, stewed, soup,bar-be-Q,
salad, I'm sure there are a few more I don't know about:o)...Ginny

I have seen those cheese boards, but did wonder why one needs a block of wood to serve cheese? If I were to serve cheese I would serve it on a plate, but what do I know? Your use for the wood seems much more practical. That's our Ginny!

There are always items that you have to guess what they are used for..usually most of us don't have the luxury of thinking of what to serve in the (what we call the proper utencils) Just happy to have something to serve :o)...When I was trying to pick my first Crystal glasses for company the man told me "Lady they will drink out of a jelly jar as long as it's free" In my lifetime I found he was exactly right...ginny
