Today is a Dreary Rainy Wednesday :o)

Yet there is much to smile about here at our house :o)  Yesterday we took First Cousin to a place we found that is a "Food Paradise" any and everything to eat under the Sun.
I don't have to order smoked tongue from a distance anymore..it's right here at home..
Just by someome overhearing Cecil speak of it , is what led  them to give him directions
to the "Food Paradise"  place. You all remember me telling you my Persimmon tree only delivered five persimmons this year! Well that was the first thing I saw and purchased :o) as you can also see, I've eaten two already..I thought about peeling a couple and putting them into the foodsaver bags, and just defrosting when i wanted to eat them...I'll have to do that soon, because I can't stand the temptation of gobbling them up.

Then there are the bundles of Fresh Spinach,
that I thought I'd blanch and save..uh! once I shrink some I wanted to eat some and I ate a bundle all by myself..then fixed Cecil a bundle..I could see there was no sence in doing a blanching deal ..so I cooked them all they were so fresh and delicious and the biggest leaves I've seen in a while. So I don't do well growing Spinach ,someone else did :o) and the price was so so resonable for the amount $1.09 bunch. I don't have to worry about any greens for the next two days..Spinach is part of the menu :o) First Cousin was excited too and she got three bundles ..bet she eats them up fast too...:o)

We picked up a lot of fruit , Pears, Peaches,
and I couldn't resist the Avacado's  Also there were a few bottles of Aloe Vera I was just dying to try, I've heard so much about Aloe being good for the body in so many
ways..Two flavors should give me some idea if I like it or not..

The Baby Boc Choy was just too tempting to leave it all there, so I brought some home  :o)....somehow, I will squeeze it in the menu.
Especailly on a day like today..I'm tired from shopping..and it's a good day to watch TV and nibble...B/S watch yourself :o)

Mrs Pickles,
there was so much more that I wanted, but the pocket book said "you better leave that alone" ..next time for sure :o)

Daisy,
I could shop there all day and fill up a couple of cartloads, but alas, my budget says "hold it girlie" :o)
my freezers too, they aren't full (according to my mother who says if there is room for one piece it's not full ) God Bless her resting soul.

What a lot of wonderful goodies! I looked at Bok Choy seeds in the Baker Creek catalog, but haven't decided yet whether to buy some. So many new vegetables to try, so little soil to try them in. :)

Leigh,
I tried to grow them in the Spring and Robin told me they grew better in the fall..so I left them all summer and sure enough they grew better after September and I was able to get a few harvest from them until I got the last few last week :o) ...The new found market is a the bomb :o)

Wow, what a find. I love it when we find those hidden gems. Do you know i've never eaten a persimmon in my life? I just might have to try to find some sometime and try it out. As for Bok Choy, we LOVE it. Definitely on the list for the "fall garden". Dang, I better get busy on the spring/summer garden first, ha.

I can't wait to get back there..there were so many goodies that I thought of later that I'd like to have..

1st man,
finding that place was a happy day :o) I felt like I was in a garden with a million choices. I don't eat the skin of the Persimmons I usually peel with a knife and slice my way through ..they are delicious when fully ripe..and these are just right..(do I sound like little red riding hood ?:o)

oh no! Ginny I meant not disrespect for the holiday. I only was trying to say that we don't ever have a day off. I changed the post to be more clear and please accept my deepest apologies if it was offensive. The first thing I saw this morning was the google page with Dr. King's famous quote and it was a good reminder of everything he did for us all.

With greatest respect,
ofg

I know you didn't mean any disrespect, your not of that nature. I took no offense! Just tried to make it clear that the Holiday is a reminder of sacrifices made, so we could all feel safe with the love and protection of our pets from friend or foe that would mean us harm.
In the meantime..don't let the dogs get near my chicken, put a bell around her neck so they will hear her coming and get out of her way :o)
