Dinner Prep.

I like to think ahead about what I'll fix for dinner, especially when "leftovers" aren't in the plans :o),Cecil doesn't mind them at all,but sometimes I grow weary of them..growing up, my mother usually prepared one meal at a time, unless it was a Sunday meal too last for Monday...(and it was usually prepared Saturday night, and cooked Sunday..I loved when she made the cornbread for stuffing on Saturday nights and it would magically be ready when I returned (a hot slice with butter)from getting the Sunday papers with my friends...a group of us walked (about a mile) to Broadway (Brooklyn) to the Newsstand for the papers ...it was really a fun time..we often got Charlotte's (Italian pastry) on the way..
I don't like Asparacus in the can (it's too mushy), but I got these for a "lazy" day.
I've marinated some chops, with wine and my special seasoning :o)...we had some last night and they were so good, that an instant replay was elected :o)...A little couscous ought to be on time...

It all sounds yummy! I know what you mean about asparagus! But I love it no matter what!! Your jalepeno jelly looks great. We are used to this kind of jelly here in Texas and it is so good. A lot of times at the flea markets, the vendors offer samples of it with a cracker smeared with cream of cheese. They put the jelly on top of the cheese and it is so good! Have a great weekend, blessings,Kathleen

Kathleen, I have it that way too! makes a good snack, even with all the sugar it still has a nice kick.

I LOVE leftovers - to me they're like money in the bank. They offer me the rarest thing of all - time.

Ginny, the fact that you prepare things ahead is probably why you are such a good cook. I generally fly by the seat of my pants when it comes to cooking and just throw together whatever is available at the last minute. My meals might turn out better if I planned ahead a bit. HA! :D
