Ginny's handmade Cover Girl :o)

Say hello to my " Little Cover up Girl "
What's she covering up you say? Well lets
take a peek under her skirts (naughty).
She has been saving something for  me for at least 30 years, she keeps it out of contact of some people who like to "touchy , feely"
and when they break it "Sorry" means nothing.

Now the secret is out :o). I bought this about
30 or more years ago,
I forgot where, because I loved Antique shopping and Junk stores ( Now they are called Goodwill :o) It's really a butter Churner missing the paddle that fits into that hole.
She will do fine for making Kraut, made of the same stuff..
Last year I had to use a ceramic flower pot, it did the job but it was uncomfortable to use.
The plate I used needed more weight to hold down the cabbage..well I googled and found the perfect solution for this years "Sauerkraut makings :o)

Here's the solution to the problem :o)
It came last night ..I wish delivery would at least ring the bell. It wasn't found until late when Cecil checked the car etc. before we retired for the night.

Inside the crock , you can see it's a perfect fit :o)...now I'm ready for some serious Sauerkraut making. My blessing was right under my nose all along if I just paid some attention :o) I saved myself a pretty penny :o) not having to buy another set up.

Update: TSM product 10-15 Liter Stone Weight..There is a larger one, but that size fits my crock. I ordered it from Amazon.com. $14.95 +$7.35 = $22.34

That will work out great! You wouldn't believe some of the things that I have used to weight down the sauerkraut in the past!

Your little cover is so cute and I'm sure it helps keep folks from touching that lovely crock churn. But what is that you bought to use as weight when you make your kraut?

Robin, it's such a little thing but it makes me happy and whistle while I work :o)

Mama-Bug, I made that little cover more than 30 years ago when I was into sewing crafts! The name of the item is TSM product 10-15 Liter Stone Weight..There is a larger one, but that size fits my crock. I ordered it from Amazon.com. $14.95 +$7.35 = $22.34 better than me running around town trying to find one. I think they charge too much for S+H. they all do.

You're so clever as always, Ginny. The cover is really cute. Who would ever guess what is under there. I hope the weight will work for you. It looks like just what you needed. Have a nice weekend! :)

You clever gal, Ginny! Antique shopping in your own home - it doesn't get better than that. Your bunny is adorable, and I hope she finds something else to hide.

Ladydi, she will anything that her skirts will wrap around :o) She has a Big sister that hides a vacuum :o)

Kathleen, she is a good cover upper :o) and I hope I have some goody sauerkraut to make in the crock. I have had to fight the bugs like mad to keep them off my young cabbage..today they didn't look too bad, or none the worst, farming isn't easy :o)
