Sauerkraut canned

This morning I'm glad that this job is done! It will be finished once I wipe off the rest of the jars and label them..
If you notice there are five jars that look a little green, those were the ones that I did in the 1/2 gallon jars, I thought that might be an easier way to do them, they still had to be "canned", because I didn't wish to store that much in the fridge. the other jars were done in the crock..I gave them a taste before I put them in the pot and jars and Boy! that's some good tasting stuff!..I now see what all the fuss is about making Sauerkraut :o)...I thought the jar method was too confusing...but it's really not, in fact it was easier to get the "crud" off with my little gravy ladle spoon. You can see the ones from the crock look a different color, that's the one I tasted and it was good. Time will tell me which way I'll go next time...We like to put a Nathan's frank on a roll with sauerkraut and hot peppers, and I like that Pork and sauerkraut dish I just started making..Cecil likes it all. I did like Mrs Pickles "worked my ass off", so now I'm going to just sit on my face :o)

Yucky, yucky....you need to be married to my husband, and mother to my youngest daughter. I don't know how you people can eat "rotten" cabbage! LOL! But job well done, Ginny.

That should keep you in kraute for some time to come. Nothing better than homemade.:)

Jody,
Pork chops with kraut sounds good to me! I'm so surprised at the taste from store bought.

Annie's Granny,
Your just jealous cause you can't get the essence of it :o) that's a taste only people that have the smarts to know Mother Nature in the raw :o)

Mr. H.
I'm noticing the difference, it's surprising :o)

Mrs. Pickles, I think I worked the whole body off, I'm so tired today, I didn't get out of bed ..I either stumbled , slid, fell or crawled out of it. I've got things to do..they will just have to wait. My mind is willing but the body won't allow it.

You really work hard at canning, but it looks like it is paying off. I wish I had the time to can.

Robin,
I'm glad I don't listen to old people that are senile :o)
That rotten cabbage is going to make me pretty and healthy, then lets see granny squirm. I've tasted the crock and it's good, a little soft, but that's okay..the jar looks firmer.

Daisy,
I hate to admit it, but I'm really tired to the bone..I could hardly eat I was so tired..and I didn't want leftovers..

Kris,
I do work hard at canning, I also enjoy going to the closet and picking out dinner :o) especially towards the end of the month :o) You have to make time for canning, when things are available...later is too late.
